Rockwell Collins' Global Positioning System (GPS)-based equipment is unsurpassed for surface mobility. Rockwell Collins has
been the world leader in military handheld GPS for over 12 years. For today's soldiers, handheld navigation is a necessity
for situational awareness and surviving the rigorous environments of war.
DAGR Rockwell Collins' Defense Advanced GPS Receiver (DAGR) is the U.S. Department of Defense's standard for handheld GPS receivers.
Weighing less than one pound with batteries, DAGR is the smallest and lightest handheld receiver for the soldier. It features
improved man-machine interface (Graphical User Interface and maps), ease of use and a proven design that has passed environmental,
serial port and software testing for a low-risk, field-ready unit. DAGR is also "backwards compatible" with Precision Lightweight
GPS Receiver (PLGR) installations, making the two products interoperable.
DAGR includes anti-jam improvements for enhanced protection and incorporates the next generation security device, Selective
Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM). DAGR can use up to 12 channels to lock onto signals from available GPS satellites,
allowing soldiers to depend on reliable position information under challenging conditions and terrain. As of March 2008, Rockwell
Collins has delivered over 200,000 DAGRs and has ramped up production to meet the immediate needs of the U.S. Army as it serves
in Iraq.
PLGR With more than 250,000 units delivered worldwide, the Rockwell Collins handheld Precision Lightweight GPS Receiver (PLGR)
family of products was the first standard portable GPS receiver for the U.S. Department of Defense and international militaries.
Our PLGR is a low-cost entry receiver into the GPS handheld market offering users five-channel, single frequency capability.
Our second-generation receiver, PLGR II, features increased performance, integrity and improved jamming resistance. The Rockwell
Collins PLGR II's all-in-view, dual-frequency and fast acquisition capabilities enhance the receiver's ability to acquire
satellite signals quickly, and to continue tracking satellites despite jamming or signal blockage. Our third-generation receiver,
PLGR III, supplied to the U.K. BOWMAN program, offers high-performance position, velocity and time (PVT) in a jamming environment,
includes fast Direct-Y acquisition and area navigation functions and incorporates SAASM for advanced security.
