The Naval Air Warfare Center - Training Systems Division (NAWC-TSD) selected Rockwell Collins to develop, integrate and support the E-2C Hawkeye 2000 Weapon System Trainer (WST).

The new training system, designated 15F8H, is designed to provide realistic initial qualification and continuation ground based training for the Hawkeye 2000 "Combat Information Center" Naval Fight Officers. The design incorporates several new technologies including the aircraft Mission Computer Upgrade and the UYQ-70 Advanced Control Indicator Sets (ACIS).

Future enhancements to the initial design are anticipated which include the incorporation of the multi-platform Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC), and the integration of the WST for interoperable networked mission training.
